Brittany Steen, Ed.S., A/OGA
In 2004, Brittany launched her teaching career in St. Augustine as an Exceptional Student Education teacher at Gamble Rogers Middle School. This experience was followed by six formative years overseas in Italy and Japan teaching for the Department of Defense. The tail end of her career in public education was spent in Virginia Beach, where she also started her family and earned her Ed.S. in Educational Leadership. The bulk of her teaching career has been deeply focused on children and teenagers with learning differences, including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, ADHD, and Anxiety.
In 2022, Brittany became officially accredited through the Orton Gillingham Academy at the Associate Level to provide highly specialized and individualized instruction to learners with dyslexia. She is currently pursuing Certified Level accreditation.
Brittany founded Grassroots Education, LLC in 2019, with a personal drive to learn more evidence-based approaches to teaching diverse learners how to thrive academically. All of her specialists have been trained through RCF to use the Orton-Gillingham Approach.
