Lindsey Freeman
Lindsey Freeman is a consultant and board member for the Reed Charitable Foundation, wife to Benn, and mother to three children. With a background in law, reading was a way of life for Lindsey. As her children entered early elementary years, she observed her eldest daughter was not reading. Lindsey watched the struggle to read take an emotional toll on her daughter and on the family.
Diagnosed with dyslexia, her daughter began receiving daily reading instruction from teachers trained in the Orton Gillinham method. Lindsey realized she was lucky to find this science based instruction for her daughter, as it was not readily accessible for students in her area. A new passion to help others receive science based reading instruction was born. No one should feel helpless when their child or student cannot read.
Lindsey hopes to raise awareness regarding the literacy crisis and to help schools, teachers, and parents receive science based reading instruction and implementation through the Reed Charitable Foundation.
