Melissa Edwards
Melissa Edwards has been residing in the Orlando area for two decades. She is a wife to Marcus and a mother of two boys Christian and Ethan. With almost two decades of classroom teaching experience ranging from pre-K to 5th grade, Melissa observed that some students struggled with reading, which prompted her to investigate the reasons behind this challenge.
Her research led her to discover the Orton Gillingham approach, which she pursued through intensive training from RCF after months of research. Melissa has worked as a classroom educator using the OG approach with 5th graders and private tutoring clients; and has witnessed how the science of reading empowers all students with critical reading skills that translate to other subjects.
During her downtime, Melissa enjoys reading, playing word games, baking, and traveling. She is also a keen spectator of her sons’ track and field events.
