Chrystal LaVoie

Chrystal is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience in public education. Throughout her career, she has served in various roles, including classroom teacher, reading coach, reading interventionist, and curriculum specialist.

Chrystal earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Central Florida. This May, she will further her expertise by graduating with an Education Specialist degree in Reading, focusing on Structured Literacy and Dyslexia.

Committed to advancing literacy education, Chrystal has been trained at the Associate Level in the Orton-Gillingham approach through the Reed Charitable Foundation. Her passion lies in empowering students and educators with evidence-based strategies to foster reading success for all students. .

Chrystal is passionate about joining the REED Charitable Foundation because she firmly believes that every child deserves the fundamental right to read. As both a dedicated teacher and a mother, she has witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by students struggling with literacy, including her own child. Having experienced the transformative impact of Orton-Gillingham, Chrystal is inspired to join RCF and contribute to a community that ensures every child has the tools and support they need to succeed in reading and beyond.
