Judy Nessell Jang is a dedicated speech-language pathologist and passionate advocate for equitable access to education and healthcare. With a career spanning over three decades and a heart for service, Judy brings a wealth of clinical expertise, leadership experience, and community engagement to every endeavor she undertakes.
Judy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and went on to receive her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Northwestern University. Her professional journey has included intervention in a variety of settings. She has delivered speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing therapy to children and adults in schools, clinics, homes, and skilled nursing facilities. Judy is a proud member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She holds certification in Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT), Vital-Stim Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES), and is trained in Neuro Developmental Therapy (NDT). Most importantly, Judy has completed 60 hours of Orton-Gillingham training through RCF, and has been working with children and adults on improving their literacy skills since 2021.
Currently, Judy serves on the Board of AdventHealth Foundation for Children in Central Florida, where she contributes to strategic initiatives that support pediatric health and wellness. She also volunteers at Pendana Senior Residences at West Lakes, fostering intergenerational connections and supporting the well-being of older adults in her community.
Judy’s commitment to literacy, communication, and lifelong learning aligns seamlessly with the mission of the Reed Charitable Foundation. Her unique blend of clinical insight, board experience, and heartfelt advocacy makes her a valuable asset in the fight to end the literacy crisis and empower all children to thrive.
Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Judy enjoys traveling and cherishing time with her husband, their two adult children, and their five beloved dogs.
