Whitney Turbeville

Director of OG Implementation

Whitney is an Associate of the Academy of Orton Gillingham and an experienced educator in both the public and private settings. She attended undergraduate school at the University of Florida and earned her Master’s in Collaborative Teaching and Learning in 2016 from Florida Southern College. She began working with dyslexic students soon after and has taught elementary and middle students in a traditional classroom setting, as well as implemented OG one-to-one with children of all ages.

Her passion for equipping teachers to identify students with reading difficulties and to implement Orton Gillingham comes from her own experience as a public school teacher. Before beginning her journey with OG, Whitney felt the frustration that so many teachers face; knowing that a struggling child needs more than what the curriculum is offering, but not knowing how to provide it. She has seen firsthand the difference that OG can make in a child’s learning and believes wholeheartedly in its benefits for both the dyslexic and non-dyslexic learner. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to support teachers as they learn and implement OG in their own classrooms.
